Episode 14: Chicken Wing Battle
Who doesn't like chicken wings? I mean, what's not to like? It's the perfect compliment to beer. Clarke loves wings so much, he makes his own. So we thought it would be a good idea to order wings from Pizza Hut (Wing Street) and compare them to Clarke's and see whose is better. Listen in as the Chicken Wing battle heats up to epic proportions!
We also taste beers that Clarke brought back from his trip to the Midwest, including the infamous Leinenkugel.
In this Episode:
• Hog Dawg orders wings online, instead of calling the order in (ain't technology a bitch?)
• Clarke's chicken wing recipe (click here)
• Beer exchange with Rick from Big Foamy Head
• San Diego Real Ale Fest recap
• Stone's 10th Anniversary coming September 9th
• Stone wall event and special brew
• Did Clarke's credit card get declined?
• The main event -- Wing Battle: Clarke VS. Wing Street. Whose wings will reign supreme? Listen closely as we chew with our mouths open in your ears.
• Runzas: Clarke loves them, they give Dawg the Runsas.
• Midwestern Beer tasting, including Leinenkugel, Sprecher, Empyrean Brewing, and Boulevard Brewing.

Great show guys! Can't wait for the beer exchange. It'll give me a chance to revisit some of my bottles to see if they've improved or got stale with time. After I fire off this note, I'm in search of the chicken wing recipe! :)
Hey, you rock d00d! Thanks for your comments, and glad you enjoyed the show. Hope you like the wing recipe. Loved listening to your interview with the wing champ on your show. I think we were inspired.
Looking forward to hearing what you have to say about our brew. Can't wait to taste whatever you have, but no rush. Ours might suck and you might change your mind. :-D

Dude! Dogfish Head was in that doc film "American Beer" [kick ass movie BTW] and I have not seen it in so. cal.
...life is to short to get to all those fine beers in the world! dammit.

Awesome show, once again. That was hilarious, and it made me really hungry listening to you guys chomping on those wings. Just checked out that recipe and it looks good. Maybe I'll make them tonight, the Astros are on.

Nice job you fuckers! Who's the ugly bastard on the home page? You're scaring the shit out of me.
Had Hooters wings once and they were maybe the best I've ever tasted. You can't beat wings & tits.
I hate the fact that every time someone tastes a Leinie, they think of me.
Lets get one thing straight. Its my QUANTITY beer. I never said it was great, but it beats stocking the fridge with Bud or Miller Light for guests.

Oh, and great show once again!
Do me a favor though, tie Hogs head closer to the Mic. You need to start jumping his ass like I do CHUD.
Loved the show. Those beers didn't sound too fuckin' good. Sounded like you forced yourselves to say good things about them. Bad-ass recipe for chicken wings. Take-out wings are too fuckin' greasy for me. Do you have to deep fry 'em?
Check out this recipe from Johnny Road Trip.
Hey Groucho, I do my best to keep his face near the microphone, but it's hard to teach an old "Dawg" new tricks. :-D Ha! Ha! Get it? And old "Dawg" . . . new . . . tri . .
Anyway, thanks for your comments, and for listening. And sorry the guys didn't care for Leine as much as I did. If it's any consolation, my wife LOVED it. And it helped make an otherwise horseshit vacation worthwile for me.
And hey Artie - kiss my white ass! Where's your picture? You assholes who don't register must be Ultra-ugly motherfuckers.
Great show. Made my ride into work this morning very enjoyable. I'm hungry for wings now, though. Thanks for posting that receipe link. I just downloaded it and I will try it sometime.
I've never tasted any of those beers you mentioned. Can you even get them out here on the west coast?
Funny about the berry beer. Not too long ago, my wife bought me a 6-pack of Sea Dog Bluepaw wild blueberry wheat ale and I had the same response. It was drinkable, but you have to be in the mood for it.
Thanks for continuing to use i-tunes. It makes it easier for me to know when you guys have a new show. I just turn it on and it starts downloading.
