The Hopfather

From Dude Night's segment of the Beer Safari promotional video, we present "The Hopfather."

In this episode, Senor Gonsorellie visits the Hopfather on the day of his daughter's wedding to present him with a bottle of Racer 5 IPA from Bear Republic Brewing Company, in hopes that he will give his blessing to the brewery so they can produce more of it without trouble from the Corleone family.

The Hopfather, wary of hoppy beers and IPAs in general, refuses to grant his blessing until Senor Gonsorellie tastes the beer first, and gives him reasons why he feels the beer is worthy of such a blessing.

Episode 17 - Halloween Beer Show

Happy Halloween! With Gonso AWOL, we're forced to do our Halloween show alone. In place of cool stuff like the "Horror Movie Quote Game", we taste two different pumpkin beers, along with Reaper's Ritual Ale, and some Chimay cheese. We also experiment with a hybrid pepper called the Habanero Suave, which contains almost no heat. Clarke introduces us to a new feature of Dude Night called "The Coronary Corner" with it's first installment, the pressed Cuban burger. We also review The Real Happy Hour's so-called Beer Show, recap Groucho, CHUD, and Rick's visit, and more.

Episode 17 recap:

• Where's Gonso?
• Stone Fest redux with Groucho, CHUD from The Beer Report and Rick from Big Foamy Head
• Slow Food Movement
• Mild Habanero tasting (Buy the seeds online from Renee's Gardens)
• Buffalo Bill's Brewing's Pumpkin Ale
• PumpkinHead from Shipyard Brewery
• TRHH's Beer Show

We also find out how incredibly young Gonso was when he had his first beer (and his first fish sandwich). It's safe to say we're learning more and more about Gonso with each episode.
